How does that work then Steve?

'You' have a licence to use fonts and can give them to other people to use that don't have a licence???

(confused with that one).

All fonts on 1001 fonts are in the public domain and either demoware, freeware, postcardware or shareware.
Above quote taken from their site - no mention of any licence - got me baffled too!

Agreed, why would you need a license for freeware/shareware, kind of defeats the whole point of freeware/shareware.

i paid about £20 for mine about a year ago typical
you used to be able to download any fonts individually and use but as usual not for commercial use
but if you bought the whole lot you could use them as you wished
the site is http://www.ultimatefontdownload.com/

I don't think anyone was taking the piss for helping anyone out, just think we thought you meant fonts from this site http://www.1001fonts.com/ which is freeware. The site you listed above appears to still be freeware fonts but you pay for the ease of one click to download them all rather than individually, which if you ever want to increase your fonts is far easier and quicker to just hand some readies over for a single click
