hi
just bought a new cutter and now i need some vinyl. seen a lot for sale with a lot of difference in the prices. obviously you get what you pay for [most of the time]
but would shop bought 'fablon' type vinyl do for most jobs, seems a cheap way to practice if nothing else!
also as i havnt used my cutter yet how do i know what pressure to set the blade at?
many thanks

Plenty of places to get vinyl from, Amari, MDP etc - just do a google search.

I doubt whether fablon would be cheaper than standard plotter vinyl.

The blade should just cut the vinyl and not the backing sheet - start off light and work towards just cutting the vinyl and little, or no marks, left on the backing sheet.

Cheers John

try MDP for vinyl. I personally wouldn't test on rubbish(certainly wouldn't use fablon) because you need to now how the machine operates with the quality you are going to hope to sell. Blade pressure depends on the vinyl..indoor or outdoor...3 yr, 5 yr, 7yr quality but a ball park figure is 50-60gms of force and 30cm per second
