Driving me up the wall today, I have a r1400 with ArTainiu ink and trupix paper, up until today my blacks have always been black when pressing at 180c for 120secs on the metal plate.

Today comes along and now my black is printing a kind of mottled green/gray with some black thrown in for good measure. Nothing has changed system wise, ink is still the same and iPhone inserts are the same I was using last week and my profile is fine as it’s the one I’ve used since day dot.

Anyone ever had this problem?

Pressing time is only 50-60 seconds

Is your nozzle check pattern perfect? Is the black a deep black, ie 100% CMYK?

Nozzle check is fine, back is 100% black

It would be worth double checking the profile is still appended and the printer settings are correct. I've known windows update to screw things up. Have you also tried one of your known images that definitely prints fine to check that is okay?

Just double checked everything and this is the kind of effect i am getting:

Pressure is fine and temp is fine (the above pic is done using aluminium sheet from transferpress at 190 and 50secs) never had a problem like this before, my press is a from themagictouch and is the 38x38 swingaway.

What specifically is the problem? All I can make out from this is greens going to a darker colour. What should this look like?

Well the colours should be solid blocks but ifyou look closely they are not they are blotchy, for example top left blue block has patches of green/grey and looks all blothcy.

looks like uneven heat application to me........though being new to this I could be way off the mark.
