Hi, I'll just get straight to the point with my (possibly obvious) questions.
1. Are materials washing machine safe after dye sub pressing?
2. Are mugs dishwasher proof after the same?
3. What would be a cheap bit of software to purchase for use with my printing and is there anything free I could download?
Thank you for helping,
Clueless

1) Yes
2) Yes if your starting blank mugs are dishwasher proof (DP) - buying RN, Orca or similar coated.
3) There are a number of free software packages - you do not really say what you want it to do. If it is picture manipulation then try googling 'The Gimp' or 'paint.net'.

This forum really is great!

If you are going to want to manipulate fonts as curves to get fancy patterns then also worth downloading 'Inkscape' which is a free vector graphics package that allows some nice tricks with fonts converted to curves.
