Hi,

I have an Epson 1400 and the CIS system from Xpres.

In the external ink chambers, I have about a centimetre in depth of light cyan and light magenta...

It was printing perfectly, then decided to do a nozzle clean of it's own (as it does sometimes!) and now there is absolutely nothing coming through on those two colours.

Sometimes it takes a while for the ink to soak through...but I'm concerned that, as there's nothing on the nozzle check for those colours...maybe the cm of ink left isn't enough?

Anyone use this system? I have more on order (and will then figure out how to refill them!)...but I have a huge backlog of orders.

Help and advice appreciated :)

Charis x

Is the ink below the red line on the CIS? It sounds very low. Is there ink in the lines?

It is on the line on the sticker (hadn't realised that was a line...it's not red, but I presume that's what it's for...just above then name of the colour).

Yes, there is ink in the line.

Should I stop trying and await the new ink?

Once the ink gets very low it is at the same level as the upstanding tube inlet in the external tanks. This could be the cause as no more ink can be sucked into the system. Might be best to wait for more ink to arrive and see if this corrects itself. You probably can't reprint system when the ink is so low anyway.

Spoke to a very friendly Rob at Xpres who suggested I tip the ink just to get it over the feeder pipe. This worked and has reassured me that low ink is the only problem. Phew :)
I also got brave with a syringe for the first time!

Thanks,
