I've been toying with swapping to a Linux OS for some time now, main thing holding me back is that I really do like/know CorelDraw.

I've been looking at the alternatives, Xara Xtreme and so on but would appreciate comments from anyone who works in Linux as to what software you use, hoe easy to get icc profiles working etc.

Played with Puppy Linux and this seems very useful expecially if working on different PC's/Laptops. Now trying OpenSuse, Xandros Desktop. I do like Ubuntu but had a few problems testing this recently....more than likely down to me though

While looking for the software you need, you could try running your CorelDraw through WINE.

I've used it occasionally to run an old version of Lotus Approach and AutoCAD LT through Puppy. It's been a while since I've used Linux (lack of time) but I'll be getting back to it someday.

I don't know if CorelDraw will run through WINE but it's worth a try.

That would be the ideal solution, I once got an old version of coreldraw running but it wasn't stable.....still trying !
