I got this earlier today via my blackberry, and from there it looks the real deal, even down to using my email details that are with ebay - not just "dear user" the MC039 bit was in the full yellow stripe that is on their emails it also uses the type of code that for anyone using ebay knows is what they do when you are in trouble, near your listings limit, etc. it was only when i got in and checked it on my actual ebay account, that i could see it was not a message from them, but as there are many new shop owners, it thought it worth posting, they are getting better and more convincing, and when you have a busy shop you do not want shutting you may end up sending something without realising. so once again - log into your account and see if they have sent you a message there, never take an email and reply to it, without checking your account first.

Seems to be a flurry of them lately - as you say, always check your account first, and don't click any links on the email. I had a few of these but that was some time ago, i'll keep an eye out for them in the next few days.

Cheers John

i saw you posted it only after i had struggled to get it to look right on my post lol, i have to say on the handheld (where you cannot see their email addy at a glance) it was a real heart stopper as you say, esp as i had just reloaded an almost empty shop as some of my bits have been selling ok

When ever I have received these I always send them to eBay and they turn out to be someone trying it on!

Same with the Paypal ones!

Forward the entire email to:- spoof@ebay.co.uk or spoof@paypal.co.uk and they will look into it!

yep, thats what i did and bigJ did the same, i just thought with the number of people posting about opening up shops for the first time, they should see one of these "good ones" its the use of your ebay email thats the clever bit, normally they just have "dear ebay member" or something similar - but for these to have your actual email is a new one
