Re: Ricoh SG firmware update problem

Hi, grateful for advice, attempting to update firmware on 3110 (our second, had to be replaced after two Err 28212 situations)
Presently this printer (as did the first) hangs on long print jobs, spits out blank and half printed pages and aborts print runs arbitrarily.
No joy with Parallels on Mac after hours of messing about. Borrowed a windows laptop running XP, downloaded the driver, then the latest firmware 2.0.4 from Ricoh site. The file will not execute, it only 'extracts' into a folder. Within that folder /subfolder/subfolder we found one Install file but it says its not compatible with the printer. (Which is plugged in, on and recognised by the laptop.
The printer will print but wastes paper, jobs over five sheets take forever and spends half its time on maintenance cycles. The last one filled the maintenance tank over 3/4 full after about 1200 prints.
Help anyone?
Cheers
Margaret
