hi,

i am currently using a Ricoh printer and now have purchased a bulk ink system for my Epson 1400 i have found the profile on the Sawgrass website. i am just wondering if it is advised to run the printers on different computers? or if when i go to print and select the printer it will automatically select the correct settings?

i am using a macbook and photoshop CS3

cheers

you don't need to use different computers, you just need to setup different print presets you can save in PS, then when you go to print, select the preset for the printer and it changes all the settings for you

As you've worked out, each printer has/needs its own ICC profile, and you can get these from Sawgrass (assuming you're using Sawgrass ink they should work well)
In Photoshop, when you go to print, and select, "Photoshop manages colours" you then get a drop down list below, with the list of ICCs installed on the computer - select the appropriate one for the printer you are using.
To streamline this, I delete a lot of the ICCs I know aren't used, so the list isn't silly long, but be careful if you aren't sure on this.
