Hi guys
Excuse my basic question - I'm sure I knew how to do this once upon a time! I've forgotten.
How can I easily create a word inside another with a defined distance between the lines.
Take the word FLAWLESS
I want to create the same word within, where the distance between the lines of the first and the second is, say 5mm.
The idea being that I can DTG print or CAD-CUT the inner word and use outer word as a path to set sequins/rhinestones.
Hope I explained that okay!
Cheers
John

Hi John,
If I am understanding you correctly, then you can you use the contour tool underneath effects, then you need to specify the distance and to contour inside not outside, not sure if you have to convert the text to curves first also.
thanks

Hi John,
as Jason has said, you need to go to effects, click on contour, select inside, then go to arrange and break contour group apart, you can get a similar effect with collegiate fonts

Thanks Guys
I did try the contour tool but didn't work out exactly as I wanted it - I tried it AFTER posting the message!
A font might provide the solution - we use Collegegate for basketball teams. Didn't think of that! Shows it's worth posting
Cheers
John

Just tried the font option and it sorta distorts when enlarged in one direction

Hi John,
I think what you want to do is this:
Put "Flawless" in as text in the font you want to use.
Add a border that is the size of the distance you want the two lines to be apart.
click arrange>convert outline to object.
You should now have 2 objects - the original text & outline - on top of each other.

Hi Stitch
This is Corel X3 so hopefully it will be the same. The red outline shows the tool you need and also the two bits that control the depth and number of objects to create.

Great stuff, thanks.
I went searching for it, found it and have been playing with it
Looks like the solution.
