Hello,
Does anybody know where to get the plastic for above shop fronts? (already cut to size) for shop signage? I'm only planning to put normal sign writing (vinyl) on the plastic. thanks

If you search in google for foamex you should be able to find a few suppliers, unless it is going to be mounted on a solid board it would be best to go for 5mm over 3mm

Foamex is not for shop signage. It has a foam core and is not durable enough for the outside world.

You need an acrylic panel sometimes called perspex. This comes in all sorts of colours. Is it to go in an existing frame? Is it illuminated? You can always use Di Bond panels if you just want a long lasting panel with which to apply the vinyl to.

Alot of printers use it for external signage, our shop sign is printed 5mm Foamex and still looks as good today as the day it was put up however you've got me worried now

Aluminium composite panel or hoarding panel (skybond/dibond/ebond). Cheap ali faced composite board ideal for signage.
Lasts for ever, doesn't go brittle like foamex after a few years, and it can be cut with a sharp Stanley knife.
I wouldn't used foamex for shop signage either - unless it was temporary.

Prices seem steep - try Amari, Pyramid display or Rob Hornes.
Buy the largest sized sheet you can afford (think its around 2440 x 1200) and ask them to cut it to the size you require. That way you'll have off cuts for your next job. White is the cheapest and the value brands such as ebond or hoarding panel are ideal.
Cheers John

Hi TJ
Don't panic

if its still up and looks good then do not worry. Perhaps there is a newer foamex on the market that I know nothing about (very possible)
