We get many fighters wanting their name on the front (heavily elasticated) waist band of their shorts.
The elasticastion has a load of give, so we have not tried embroidery direct as it will remove any 'give'
We normally suggest the client buys a piece of satin for us to embroider, then they have to sew it onto the waist band.... and it all seems a big hassle.
Is it possible to embroider direct through the elasticated part?
I guess giving some pre stretch.....
Any tips?

Look at how the manufacturers (eg Adidas) put their logos on boxing trunk waistbands. They all use an applique rather than direct embroidery.

Yes you can do it directly onto the waistband, same technique as embroidery onto lycra - avoid like the plague!!!!

Still getting asked how to embroider on fighting shorts waistband. - so BUMP !

We always ask the customer to bring in a piece of material, embroider that, then get them to sew it onto shorts .... seems a PITA.
Wonder about any other ways that work?
