Hello all,the problem I'm having is when I try to print ( it prints a nice looking red on the paper after it comes out of the printer) red it is coming out orange, I'm using Corel X3, printing from the powerdriver, 400* F for 40-45 seconds, trying to print on FRP key chains. Also using light pressure, and Trupix paper.
Thanks
Mike

Hi Mike

Firstly, have you selected a CMYK Red in Corel. If you want what us Brits call a "pillar box red", I suggest 100 M 100 Y. If you are using an RGB red it will be a tad orange.

Secondly, you have not mentioned what printer or ink you are using. You need to make sure you have the correct colour profile installed and selected for the ink and printer you are using. If you purchased from a reputable supplier they will be able to supply the profile and installation instructions.

If you purchased on the cheap, then have a search on this forum for installation instructions.

A couple of other things it might be (although unlikely)

Make sure you have the correct side of the paper printed (the whiter side on Trupix)

Make sure you are using the correct time and temperature for the item you are printing.

Regards

SG

Sorry, forgot to say I was using Ricoh 3110dn, using Sawgrass inks, I am using RGB color palette to design with as that is what Sawgrass told me to use, the way i understand is the powerdriver converts to CMYK. Is that not correct? Thanks for the response.

That is what Sawgrass say, but personally I have always ignored that and used either CMYK or PANTONE, coming from a print background it is what I am used to and I think it reproduces better.

Assuming all the other bits are correct, I would say it is the profile is not installed correctly. Did you follow their instructions and did it look like it worked?

It did work fine at one time, and they installed it for me during a remote hook-up, because I was having trouble with the new powerdriver update when it first came out, I will try a CMYK palette and see if that changes anything.
Thanks
