People on here saying report this and report that, is all well and good till you cross the wrong people and also face the consequences of THEIR actions.[/QUOTE]

Not sure what you mean quote above, do you mean don't report and life is easy, or report at your peril, it you are reporting someone, is it not kept confidential, they can only retaliate if they know who it is or have something on you.

Sorry should have made it clear, pmg is what I put on the artwork on our website, someone emailed me and asked if he could have images without pmg on. how strange is that.

That's the problem with the internet, people assume what is in the public domain is a free for all. Music, movies, games etc. People wouldn't come to your place of work and try and take artwork for free but it seems fair game on the net. I stopped chasing and more so checking as it used to wind me up.

    The OP is http://stores.ebay.co.uk/SublimeDesigns

He obviously isn't worried as all the designs are still there. The income is obviously too good to tempt him back on the straight and narrow. Football, Film, TV, Music...... all dodgy.

I would have thought he'd been reported by now as well. There are probably a few members here that have licences for certain lines like Moto GP etc that he is able to undercut without having purchased a licence.

Unless your allegations are based on DEFINITIVE knowledge rather than assumption if you report someone, then the person being accused has legal channels open to them for damages of libel and slander through the courts. That includes getting a court order to find out who made the allegations in the first place. Copyright and trademark infringement are civil offences, as is someone protecting their business reputation through the same civil courts.

Making allegations against people in a similar trade without proof, would just present itself as a malicious competitor in the courts and carries the appropriate financial penalties if found guilty. You can't just go round accusing people of this and that wthout accepting the responsibilities for your actions.

The rights holders are the ones best suited to protecting their own copyright and trademarks. If they choose not to police their own rights, then that is their own personal choice and really of no concern to anyone else.

He is a member of this forum and therefore had time to put us all right, he has choose NOT too, this speaks volumes, and if as you say it a personal choice and really no concern to anyone else, then you have exasperated the situation with your remarks, it seems to say loud and clear, don't say anything bad about this member, do you know him, and I sure all of us has read thing in the paper and said he or she is guilty, it is our right within reason and with no response for him I choose to believe that he does not have a License. If innocent this is NOT a time to be silent

This was not my quote just asking what you meant it, hence my reply

I don't know the thread poster and have zero interest in his enterprises. By the same token I don't hold any malice against him and don't see why he should have to justify his actions to folks on here either. The green eyed monsters in a similar trade are on a pointless moral crusade yet again!

I still struggle to see what all this has to do with anyone OTHER than the rights holders. Do you think nobody at these multi million enterprises is capable of using Google? Do you folks think these big corporations and businesses have never heard of eBay? In fact, do you think the people at eBay should perhaps take more responsibility for what appears on their sites?

The copyright holders are certainly not deaf, dumb and blind. I'm sure that if they want to chase infringers, they are more than capable on doing that on their own initiative, without someone 'tugging at their sleeves'.
