How funny...I was just about to post the exact same thing! I received my Ricoh SG3110 and mug press a few weeks ago but have not had a chance to use it properly yet as the first two tests I tried didn't work at all. I had a very feint shadow of the design. I'm using sublimation inks, everything was supplied by The Magic Touch though I don't seem to be able to set the temperature to stay at the temperature selected, so it started decreasing as soon as the mug went into the press.

Also, I'm using Photoshop to produce my design (I've installed the ICC profiles) - do I print direct from Photoshop document or can I produce a JPG and then just print this? Also, can I produce a design in InDesign / Illustrator then run it through photoshop to print it? Do I need to do any conversions?

I've been looking for a step by step guide for the set up of the mug press, but not found one.

Thats great ink for invoice printing but no good for sublimation and you don't really want to put that stuff in the printer or you are going to have to flush it ALL out.

Ricoh sublimation ink is called SubliJet-R 4 carts will cost you about £210 if you are a premium member on here you can save 10% with some listed suppliers oh plus postage.

Or £310.80 with a new printer (£279.72 for premium members)

Hi Claire,
Yup I'm afraid it looks like you have installed the normal Ricoh carts that came with the printer and not sub inks. As afterMo has said you would need to buy a set of the above carts to get it going but sounds like you will need to flush the system. I will leave that to someone with a bit more knowledge about these thing than me I've never had to do it so not sure. Hope you get sorted.
