Help required

Purchased a new mug press and printer have sub mugs and paper and sub ink. been printing and getting yellow faint writing yesterday i got a slight black on the writing! can anyone advise why? i have adjusted time heat to various ones to see if it makes a difference just seems to burn the paper

Assuming you have sublimation mugs then a faint yellow transfer is often the result of standard dye inks in the printer rather than the SubliJetR inks. Open you printer and remove the cartridges. Are they just black or do they have a bright label saying they are SubliJetR? If they don't say they are SubliJetR then that's your problem.

A full set of SubliJetR cartridges have a RRP of £175 +vat but often you'll find slightly cheaper prices from the main sublimation suppliers advertised online.

Thank you I have been told the ink i have is exactly what i need i keep doing test runs not sure if you can reuse heated mugs as may end up costing me a bit and i havent a clue what icc profiles are which people keep saying i need this was meant to be easy probably is once you know what you are doing

As BMS says just what is on the cartridges? Also what is the printer.
Standard Ricoh ink will sublimate a bit in yellow but not on other colours. Sublimation ink (sawgrass) will dye polyester coated mugs at around 180C / 2 mins.
Are the mugs sublimation mugs? If you are convinced the ink is sublimation ink try pressing onto a bit of polyester fabric at 180degC and 60 seconds. If this works the mugs are not coated. If the polyester fabric does not dye then the ink is not correct.

You might like to check the mugpress temperature. there are a lot of presses about in deg F and pressing a mug at 190F will not work. Easy way, with the press cold switch on and see the start temp around 20 and its C around 60 and its F

Alan thank you i will try this i have gone back to all suppliers to check all are genuine so will wait their reply and try the fabric press too

If the supplier is saying this is correct then presumably they have also told you to download and install PowerDriver software to manage your colours?

I have been told to do icc but without that do you get no colour at all

You should still get an image transferring, it's just that without an ICC profile, colours will be wrong. Pinks may be red, blues purple, etc.

Ok so as advised alan i have printed on to polyester fabric 100% - exactly the same light yellow print not able to see writing on it. so are you suggesting it maybe the ink if this doesnt print??
