How is this Done?

Hi guys

My mastery of Photoshop is basic to say the least!! So can anyone tell me how this artwork is edited to remove the background and allow the shirt colour to show through?

This is the original graphic on a black background.



Here the artwork has been edited to allow the colour of the shirt to show through - particularly through the smoke where the brown of the shirt shows.



and here, the green shirt shows through.

Are you looking to do the same as I did on the previous thread to this John? Looks like the same theory.

look on my screen shots john. you will be able to remove only one color/shades from photo.

Sorry for the late reply - busy, busy & busier

If you look at the smoke wisps just below U-ROY, the colour behind showing through in the original pic is black, but in the shirt pics it takes on the colour of the shirt - green, brown or whatever.

I believe there's software to do this - may be Topaz Labs.

I would do this using a clipping mask in Photoshop to remove the background, and then use the smudge and blur tools along with some color correction to create the whispy outline, hope this helps
