what did i do wrong?????
Re: what did i do wrong?????
Thought I would print these coffee cups for myself. Sublimated 180 degrees for 180 seconds. The edges have printed ok but the middle was faded. I used an 11oz mug wrap maybe I should have put two mugs in together. I thought the pressure was ok. Disappointed I hate imperfection!!!!!

Re: what did i do wrong?????
Bit confused, have you used a mug press or an oven? Sounds like an oven if you're using wraps? If so, you need to up your cook time. You need to tell us what you're using, paper, ink etc. Whose mugs are you using?
Re: what did i do wrong?????
Hi Justin, thanks for your reply. No I'm using a mug press with an 11oz blanket. The mugs are from coralgraph and the paper is a good quality one. Would I have been better putting two in at a time? I pressed them in the middle of the press directly in front of the clamp. Any suggestions out there?

They are only 5cm high mate, so will get 2 in at a time I guess!Justin;102301 wrote:How can you get two mugs in?
Not sure why you need to wrap it in a blanket though?

Re: what did i do wrong?????
The picture is not the best to be able to determine exactly the problem but I will try....
Firstly look very carefully and closely at your black writing. If this is a good rich black then it is not your time settings, if it is anything but black (to me it doesn't look that black) then your time settings are out. Secondly, looking at the images my first reaction would be either a pressure issue or a dead spot in your blanket. Both of those will cause the problem that you have.
My next mug would be 180 degrees for 240 seconds, but before placing the mug, I would run a cycle on a used mug and also up the pressure slightly so that the cup is nice and tight in the press.
Lastly, why do two at a time? its 3 minutes, if you need to save three minutes then you need more presses
By doing two you are opening yourself up for more problems IMHO

I use a cappuccino blanket for my small coffee mugs, its shorter, and thicker than a standard blanket.
