Hi All
I'm now looking at buying a printer to produce my own heat transfers.
After wading through the various threads on the subject of suitable printers I think I have established what should be a suitable setup.
I'm looking at purchasing either an Epson WF7110 or a WF7610.
Before I commit myself, can any forum members answer a couple of questions:
1: I get the impression that for T shirts, pigment inks are better when compare with dye inks ?
2: Does both Epsons come with pigment inks as standard ?
3: Refillable carts or CISS ?
4: From reading the various threads should I be looking to use Cobra inks with JPSS paper ?
and finally...
5: Are there any UK based companies selling either of the Epsons as a starter kit ?
many thanks in advance
Printer For Heat Transfers
Re: Printer For Heat Transfers
Hi i am not that experienced .but thought to share my knowledge with u.
1)i saw in many places dye ink also good for transers..so better to be with dye ink to reduce the print head issues u get with pigment .and these is not much difference in colour wise..
2) those printers are dye ink printers as far as i know.
3) refill carts are less trouble if you dont print much .but for easy life for bulk printing ciss is the way..start with refills ane get ciss when u get bussy .
4)U are bit confuced i think.Cobra inks are dysub inks .but you dont need sublimation ink for transfers.Dye ink is fine.even some ebay sellers do sell good dye inks cheeper..jpss goes with either and quality wont be any difference .
5)there are plenty but better off buying separate specially if you go with dye ink.
Hope this help and other experienced guys will share their knowledge too..
