I've just ordered my first batch of cork backed coasters - only 30 to start with. My printer is due to arrive tomorrow so haven't actually printed anything as yet.

I was not sure what to expect with the blank coasters. These are individually packed in plastic cellophane and don't seem to have an extra film to peel back. The problem is that many of them are dirty and need wiping before use and on some of them I can see small grey dots, a bit like pock marks.

I am a complete novice but the dirt in itself is annoying.

Any thoughts?

Never heard of the company you mention, so can't comment on that end, but in general if I receive products that I believe to be sub-standard I've always contacted the suppliers and got them replaced. There is no excuse for any products to be arriving dirty, especially if they are packed in plastic. I had major problems before with mugs from a supplier arriving with alot of dirt under the coating - switched supplier and was receiving a much higher grade.

I would recommend checking out some of the suppliers mentioned on here...they are generally very reliable and their products are of a high standard.

Just to say that I phoned Dye Sublimation Supplies who were very helpful and they confirmed that a film is on the coasters. It was a bit difficult to get it off but I've now got the knack of doing it. The results have been great so no doubt I will be buying more.

Warm the corner on a hot heat press and it will peel easily.
