Re: Glass Clock/coaster printing problem

Post by waynewes »

I have been printing on cutting boards absolutely fine however I have tried to print on clocks and glass coasters but I keep having a similar problem. The image on the back appears completely perfect and how it appeared on the paper however the image coming through will have a 'faded' section. At first I thought maybe it was because of my press, however the 'faded' section is not always at the same point in the press so I don't think that is the issue. Glass cutting boards have been printing fine, any idea's?

Are you applying the heat to the paper side or have you got the paper on the lower platen then the item and applying the heat through the item to the paper.

To the paper side, I watched Paul's video earlier just to check that I was doing it properly, the only thing I don't have is the silicon sheet to go on top, however I do have a thin Teflon sheet that I have used and not used to check

I do glass, aluminium, slate and clocks with the paper on the bottom and let the heat travel all through the item to the transfer paper. To get the time right I put a temp probe under the paper and press till the probe reads 185C.
