Which one of these two?
Re: Which one of these two?
I’ve narrowed my press search down to two. Does anyone know are these both Adkins presses?
DF MAXI Large Swing Away Heat Press £695.00 from BMS http://www.printerowners.co.uk/hardware-equipment/830/df-maxi-large-swing-away-heat-press.htm
XP7006ASwing Heat Press £995.00 from Xpress http://www.xpres.co.uk/p-7924-swing-heat-press-20-x-15.aspx
I'll mainly be making large quantities of keyrings, coasters etc so going for a large press to do a decent amount at each press.
Looking to purchase on Monday.
Many thanks
Mark

No comparison, Adkins every time. The other is a Chinese made copy by the looks of it. Whilst the newer Adkins are assembled in the UK they're also made in China. If funds are tight the cheaper press would suffice but if you want it to last for years go Adkins. At that price I'd be looking to see if there were any second hand Adkins on eBay. I have an older one (matching beige top) these were all made in UK and despite being older appear to last forever. Only other press i'd really consider would be the Pressmech. Considerably more than these 2 presses but again you may be lucky enough to find one second hand.

Thanks Justin, looks like I'll be giving Xpress a call on Monday. Hopefully get a good deal if I take a Ricoh SG3110 and a few other bits and pieces to get me going.

Yes, make sure they give you a good deal! I appreciate you won't get 10% off the press as standard but hopefully they'll look after you anyway. Whereabouts in the UK are you?

if you can hang on a bit, there might be deals at the upcoming shows ?? but any of the major companies should give you a good deal on a start up set up inc printer, so make sure you call them all

aah right, well contact them all, and see who comes up best, as calling in for support is not going to be an issue, might be worth adding your location on your profile, as you might then get some input from others your side of the water
