I have had banding a couple of times and found it to be the file size especially a jpeg. So I open it in Gimp and scale it down to reduce the file size and it then prints no problem. Not sure if this helps your situation though.

Could it be non sawgrass inks with the the powerdriver? Maybe getting a profile for your inks may work.

cant be that...as when one prints on plain paper = no banding at all...and all 4 nozzle checks are full/perfect
tried 3 idff sub papers, so it aint that either
and....

it prints out the other images fine...just not full deep red for the keep calm stuff, plus the banding only on the red/magenta

and blacks are tad lighters than for the epson prints....fact a lot lighter.....so yes, a profile might help that, but not the banding on the magenta

been a while bud...hope you well...

we dont use sawgrass inks remember - we import from asia justin - dont think one can use the likes of inktec sub inks in that printer...or am i wrong here ?

i seen diff on the 5 colour in regards to the blacks...really deep with the 5.
just wondering if the prints would be even better having 6 carts - cant go back to using 4 inks now ;)
the wee xp520 made that clear print wise ;)
i have many clients using inktec in these ;)

got printers here now...

set one up....refillable carts in - gel inks in - powerdriver working great ( colours coming out as they should ) - but getting banding on prints, mainly magenta.

flushed heads, head cleaned, tried all sorts of settings, adjusting the head aliments slightly....nope:rolleyes:

nozzle checks all come out intact, no gaps.....dam odd this one
Ive had a 3110 fail nozzle check fine but banding on prints eventually ricoh replaced the printer, apparently they are having quite a few issues with this. Ive stop recomending the ricoh because of this issue so far 3 clients have issues using my inks and another two using sawgras inks. Seems there is an inherent fault with these machines.

Can't confirm this as we are still selling a number of the SG3110s and haven't had a banding issue in a long long time. Perhaps you've had a bad batch of these but it's certainly not widespread.

i have had it with ricoh mags.i dont have time to mess about with things like this...we are down to one printer and its affecting productivity a lot, so much so we shut amazon down till we get other printers in...

so, we decided on 2 epson 1500w printers...getting delivered on sat coming ;)..with possibility of another before summer kicks in, if things go to plan in the coming months...
have to keep one of the ricohs we bought , as we put refillable gel inks in and buggered the warranty, so i,m told

will do for invoices and such

as i was saying to justin, i am totally and utterly cheesed off with things breaking down, or just not working right when we get them...and all are/were brand new products
have a an unlucky start to the year....but hopefully getting these new epson 1500's will get us back on track...hopefully !
