Re: Gift Box Printing - Mugs

Does anyone recommend a good printers for full colour cardboard gift boxes for mugs? I don't mean ones for posting (nor the sublimation ones) but ones to place a mug into once purchased in a gift shop so quite thin but nice to then give as present. We initially went to www.awesomemerchandise.com but they were quoting around 75p each which is very expensive in my opinion. Thank you. Olly

if you have an A3 printer and an A3 press, TMT do a dye sub printable gift box. If you want a custom printed box for each individual mug then they are not so expensive - over a quid a pop.

75p doesn't sound to far out for a short run printed mug box really. You could check out creazy.co.uk who should have a list of their printers on their site that can do their products.

We're currently in talks with the following companies for production of bespoke boxes for some of our products -good enough for shipping and retail display (think high end/department store caliber)
http://www.oysteruk.com/
http://www.belmontpackaging.co.uk/
What we've found hard is finding decent companies who can make good quality boxes, at a good price point, and can do a MOQ that is useful to us - we're looking at purchasing in batches of 1000, whereas some of the companies we talked to wanted 10 times that!

We still ship a lot of mugs in acetate boxes with printed inserts as it gives a lot of flexibility on numbers. Did have a search for printed boxes in the UK but most seemed to be outsourcing to Europe for manufacturemanufacture. Costs way to high with minimums starting at 5k. I currently use a supplier in China for larger runs boxes printed boxes but volumes are far bigger again. Once the forme is made for cutting you would think the price would become more flexible on smaller runs but never the case.
