I have been offered this Epson Pro9600 for £180. It has come from a signage firm that I used to work for. It has been well looked after and only used original inks. Is it worth it as I know I would need to pay out for flush, icc profile and new inks as well.

I was wondering whether to leave it as it is and use it for transfers, posters, photos and canvasses.

the older 76 and 96 were often regarded as better than the later ones, - but it will be over 10 years old ....if it has been used for canvas etc and you need to flush & prime for sub .... might you end up doing a lot of work for a product that is simply worn out ....

That is why I thought about using it as a normal printer

Experience of myself and others is that these older printers are pretty much bullet proof. I wouldn't worry about the age, as long as you get a clean nozzle check. Ink costs are so much lower when you go large format that you can easily justify using for subli.

How big is your heat press, can you afford a bigger press, what would you sublimate at that size.

Probably better to keep as is for now you could always convert at a later date. Great market for canvas printing.

AfterMo That was my thinking I can always change it at a later date. I am going to keep it as it is and see how I get on. I am still working full time and the sublimation is slow going but I am getting there slowly. So I think that adding canvas and other printing bits may help me more than having a larger sublimation printer.
