[Sawgrass SG 400] black dots

Hello everyone, I recently purchased a Sawgrass SG 400 with Sublijet-HD ink and TruePix paper. Every time I print something, there are very very small black dots, actually it's even smaller than dots (especially in bright colors). Did it happen to you ? Any idea ? Thanks !

Ok I scanned a print I made today. When you look closely (you need to zoom to 100%), there are small black dots on the white/pink.

Press the paper with no image, do you still get the marks? If you do you have a batch of contaminated paper.

Problem is not when pressing, it's when I print, and it's not related to the paper as I tried another one and same issue.

malkram, you mean the square around the picture (looks a little pinky) ?

I'm not talking about the square. In fact the defects can be better seen when you got the print in front of your eyes. Hey I see you have a 3110, it's almost the same as SG 400, could you print my image if I send it to you and send me a pic ? @scotty44

I think I'm having the same problem as you malkram. I'm using the same printer, inks and paper as yourself. I've also used two different sg400 and they both printed little speckles on lighter colours. It's not as noticeable when you print it out (but definitely there) but when you heat press it pops out more.

Also to add, it's not the paper that's causing the problem. I've tried truepix and xpres paper and both have the same problem.

I will buy an Epson 1500W (european version of Artisan 1430) instead.. I just wasted €420

I went through 2 Epson 1500W, they are pretty unreliable. I can't count how many times I suffered head blockages. I'm really impressed by the sg400, it's a workhorse. If only we could correct the speckling issue it would be perfect.
