yep in the USA, shop prices and fees are up....

and we all know that what happens over the pond, happens here within 12mths...
sod that....
there site is a bloody shambles, and they are now increasing fees ?

search is borked, viewings are crap, sales are crap ( so i,m told ) even from the big boys with 20,000+ products listed and on n on n on

more fee increases, i can see many chucking it...unless of course you are the small minority thats actually making any money on there and dealing with the **** that ebay brings with it

I use ebay, ignore it really, and it makes a bit of profit every month. I can go many months with no agro at all, then a few weeks where I get idiots then back to hassle free. Hence I continue with it. I guess there are probably a lot of people out there doing the same.
I saw the price increases and thought if that happens then I will probably end closing the ebay shop.....but i have said that so many times!

if you charging decent price for your stuff and got in to niche market then ebay will work. if you sell rubbish for £0.99 per mug then you wont last :)

hi paul - dont make me laugh here ....decent prices.....ON EBAY ?

people go there for bargains m8 ( er... free stuff )...not decent prices....you want decent prices, get onto amazon ;) totally diff breed of customer...yeh you get the odd one, but few n far they are m8

we tried all sorts of prices, with all sorts of products, and its as slow as hell trying to get any sales on there....jeez, never mind sales, try getting some views or watchers...they all vanished.
and not to mention the shed load of glitches that are doing the round NOW...shop don't exist when clicked on, message probs...oh i could go on, but you all know them already ;(

YES, there are people like you say in very niche markets, example - remote control cars/spares / records/vinyl...there are 2 halfwits on ebay forums who NOTHING EVERY goes wrong for , they always busy, never have ANY problems like all the others have and i say they are full of it...if anyone reading this that goes onto the ebay forum, you will know the 2 people ( twits) that i,m on about here.

so charging decent prices for sublimation stuff on ebay ?....good luck and your friend will be the tumble weed blowing past you in the wind
hope you getting a wee turn paul ;)

Have to disagree here: Most of my sales are from ebay and those that aren't usually started as an ebay customer before buying again from the website (with the help of a discount flyer with their 1st purchase). Not sure what margins you consider good but every ebay item I sell has a minimum 50% NET profit margin. That's after ebay/paypal fees, postage, and product costs are taken off.

I wouldn't say it's trouble free and it's definitely a lot of work to get to the top of your niche with a decent price but it is possible.

good is NOT what i get on ebay for my troubles bud ;)...not with any personalised stuff that is...to much hassle, faffin and little money for my time to be spent.
pre-designed stuff is little better...at least one can get order in, print/pack/ship all without any hassle
in fact even on amazon, we have taken all personalised stuff OFF for sale, and adding more pre-designed stuff - just cant be assed with the hassle any more

Not sure what you selling on ebay bud but my item when sold bringing me over 1000% profit. This is what i call niche.
If you have it then it doesn't matter if someone is looking for bargain if you only guy who doing it. if someone want to have it then will buy. end off. you must to do something wrong there
mugs with "any picture on mug" is not a niche for long long time now. Selling copyrighted material like football team mugs (not saying you do.), phone cases with football badges etc... are not niche. SO image printed on common item is not a niche and will never be. Photo will be stolen within 24h by cowboys and sold for less. I came out with my own product that maybe 5 places doing it in Europe and US so i am pretty confident in it and i wont moan about ebay as it still sell :)

biggest p*ss take i have had so far, buyer orders item (not pre printed, just an embroidered patch) following day (hour after i mark his good despatched)lodges a complaint with paypal that i have stolen £3.30 from him via paypal !! paypal investigate, i reply to them, explain its item he ordered yesterday posted today, he ordered it and he paid for it! paypal come out in his favour - so he basically got away with theft! i have tried to contact paypal, i tried to contact the "customer" i have customers name and address and he will be getting a visit, as i have seen a photo of him wearing the patch he stole from me. I know its only £3.30 but paypal treated me like a criminal

good on ya paul ;)
na we dont sell anything football....there are some things you can bend the rules a tad, but football clubs and disney are the 2 big nono's to stay well clear off.
seen to many people loose a lot of cash, and i mean a lot of cash selling that kinda stuff.
but i do see where you coming from bud... ;)

aye laura....kinda puts into prescriptive what i been saying pal ....not saying all ebay buyers are like that, but the place is riff, and set up nicely for scammers to get things for bugger all from sellers...

IMHO, it dont happen on amazon anywhere near the extent ebay has, but it has become part n parcel with selling on ebay now...as most will agree...
