Printing bags

Hi, we have an 2 epson printers, one dye sub and one inkjet and a heat press. Id like to be able to print tote bags but the dye sub ones are horrible polyester or recycled and not nice quality. Id like to be able to print on cotton or canvas bags, how best can we do this using the equipment weve got? Ive heard yolo mentioned on here before but are they laser print transfers?

Hi artygirl. We were in exactly the same position and after lots of research we went along the route of transfer paper and heat press. Basically forget sublimation paper and inks but you use your inkjet printer to print onto special transfer paper. This is then placed onto a cotton tote bag (remember to reverse the image) and you press for about 30 seconds (heavy press) and then quickly peel the paper off. Perfect prints onto much better bags. Thank you for the quick response, Ive ordered a sample pack to try. I take it you have to do designs in a block or shape, or have to cut around it before pressing? Can you recommend any bag suppliers?

Yes you are right. Our designs are pretty much the size of A4 (complete block) but you can cut the sheet if your design is quite simple. As for recommending suppliers then we are still trying out bags from a couple of places but I've done a quick google and came across this supplier who seems cheaper than we are currently paying damn it! http://www.paperbagco.co.uk/5oz-natural ... 25/c10863/

Wow they are pretty cheap, and with gussets too! Ive already ordered a pack of 5 from Amazon for testing but will definitely look at these for future.
