no jig just a3 paper as a full sheet tape coasters to it upside down then flip and press never had an isue

never had a nightmare , print with bleed or a wider contour so you can see, place the coasters ontop and tap to the paper on two sides flip the whole thing and press not had one go wrong

How are you taping the coasters to the paper?

Our process for hard coasters (without jig) very similar to mags1892. On A3 we stick to 8 images (or 4 on A4) so you have enough bleed (3mm each side) but also enough space around coasters for tape. So:
1) Paper face up on table
2) Place coasters face down on top of artwork
3) We tape 3 sides as we find 2 can still make coaster move about. Take inch of tape and place half on side of coaster and half on paper.
4) Turn over paper and place paper side up on press
5) Press for 65-75s
6) Place on flat surface and remove paper cold

We only ever use 20mm heat tape by the way which we find is important for coasters as they can move around and if you need perfect placement then it's really important to keep them still when turning over.

Cheers, will try that with thicker tape... my current heat tape is thin and coasters move around easily. I am also trying to tape 6 together on an A4 which is proving to be tricky!

I also use thick sublimation paper that may help too I hold the paper tight and dont get any movement
