Re: Black sublimation mugs
Simple answer - unless it is a WOW mug (colour changing from black to white) or has a white patch then there is no such thing as a sublimation black mug. BUT we are playing around with regular black mugs (not sublimation) and using a silver/gold transfer foil that means you can print one colour (silver/gold) onto black mugs. Requires laser printer and special transfer paper.
Re: Black sublimation mugs
I have a customer that is looking for black mugs and thought i'd ask the question on here. The print is a silver print with a black background but he needs the entire mug to be black (inside and out) which I haven't printed on before?

Print 100% black onto paper using laser (needs toner) and then heat press onto mug. We haven't mastered perfectly yet so buy a little more than needed of course.

Re: Black sublimation mugs
The main problem with these mugs is longevity. We trialled some black mugs (expensive!) with our white toner printer and followed all the instructions from TMT. They looked great until they went in the dishwasher. The image was coming off after a few dishwasher cycles. TMT say it will last up to 50 dishwasher cycles. Not brilliant compared to dye sublimation! I decided against stocking them.
These mugs would be fine for souvenirs that are never used but most people will want to use them.
Why don't you want to use the sublimation mugs with the white patch/window?

Does it transfer completely without any missing bits? What problems have you encountered?UK Printed Mugs;116014 wrote:

The white patched mugs will look odd because you can't match your black print with the black mug.anniecov;116018 wrote:

Re: Black sublimation mugs
Have you looked at the mugs with a black handle and black inside? The whole of the outside of the mug is white and can be sublimated.

Re: Black sublimation mugs
Hi Paul,
We have the following Black TwoTone mugs which I think would be a suitable option.
http://www.listawoodtradesupplies.com/i ... SMU&pgnum=
These are charged at £0.90 per unit exc VAT and shipping. These mugs will enable you to print a full colour design to the outside of the mug as well as the black handle and inner.
if you have any questions regarding these mugs then please do ask.
Many thanks
Mel
