Re: Anybody else use Novachrome?

Just that really, I use them for some items as they have never been out of stock. They never appear to get a mention on the forum and wondered why?

I use a number of suppliers and stick with them for individual products. If I have no problem I stick with them, and my eggs aren't all in one basket then!

So who else uses them?

I will add I have never found Novachrome cheap.

In my previous business I bought loads of aluminium sheets from them for years. Think it's about £1.75 for a 24in x 12in. sheet.

Use them now and then and never had a problem. It is a bit strange that they rarely get a mention as they have a good set-up and quite proffesional compared to others. Some items they are actually amongst the cheapest on (metal) but they don't set themselves out on trying to undercut everyone else. Always at all of the tradeshows with nice displays and the technical guys have good knowledge. So I have often wondered the same as you Janners, why they don't seem to get many mentions on here. Personally, I have found them slightly stand-offish at times. The frontline staff when calling through are always polite and friendly enough though. Just some companies people don't always take to. For me, I really don't like TMT but for no real massive reason. I think the lack of flexibilty with some of the bigger suppliers can go against them when the smaller one's are more likely to be easier to deal with when you need a bit of help.

I remember before ink jet sublimation they used to sell the laser sublimation set-up using a Canon laser copier which used only the one colour cart at a time.
Around £5,000 I think.

I did think others must use.....my business alone wouldn't be enough to keep them in business. I do know that one of the specialist metal printers use them, and their turnover is rather large, so maybe that is the case, they supply to some big concerns rather than smaller businesses.

Bought my very first mug press from them, it cost nearly £800. Couldn't afford another one so spent forever trying to get through a day's orders with one single press. It must have been massively overpriced for a Chinese press back in the day. I buy Chromaluxe from them now.

They were originally known as Pottery Portraits with a system for decorating plates by cutting a photo to a circle, taping it to the plate, covering with a coat of liquid resin which was then put into a UV exposure unit.
