Our Friday Tip Of The Day - Teflon Sheets

Maybe one for newbies - Always use a teflon sheet under and on top of all substrates in a flat press to keep platen clean and also distribute heat evenly.

Hope you don't mind me adding our method since it's similar principle ...

We use the large silicon sheets from Xpress : http://www.xpres.co.uk/p-7648-textiles- ... xpres.aspx

They do a smaller a3 size as well.

I doubt there's any heat distribution to them, but they do keep everything clean and are handy to cut up too for when you need something to protect "in between" like inside a cushion cover. With 500 in a pack we just throw them away and grab fresh ones once they become soiled or overly heat damaged.

Likewise, it's just our preference and does the trick, although not tried the Teflon sheets so I will give them a go.

We use baking paper from ASDA (other supermarkets are available) when printing cut vinyl t-shirt prints.

Chipshop paper, clean sheet every press, use for packaging after. Cheap as........chips!
