Have you tested the cutting yet for alignment? If the engineer is there may as well go through all functionality.

All the parts are £1500 and that includes a full set of 440ml inks. Engineer charges £250-£350 to fit depending on how long it takes.
He will go through everything on the machine including cutter alignment and all calibrations and will include a crash course on using Versaworks.

Hopefully it will give you a good few years of problem free printing after that.

Who was the engineer and where are they situated? Could be a useful contact for other Roland print cut owners ;)

That's very cheap A print head for my VS is £1300 + VAT on its own.

Would be interested to have the details of the engineer as well.

DS have the DX4 Heads at £385 at the moment, The VS has the newer DX6 heads which are still a silly price....
Good to see you found an engineer that's not ripping the pants off you, well worth the fee to get it all set up and running 100% ..

The engineer told me where to by the parts from. It is a company in Cambridge called Josero. The DX4 heads are £550 each from there.
I ordered the parts myself and he is going to fit them so he isn't making anything on the parts. He even supplies all the part numbers so you can't go wrong.
He is based in Long Eaton Derbyshire.
He does a lot of work for RA Smart.
Ill dig his number out when I return to work on Tuesday.

Ok. So here is the latest update. The engineer visited and installed all the parts. It turns out that some of the ink pipes were blocked so he replaced them all with clear pipes. Also 2 of the dampers had gone so he replaced them as well.
I now have a brilliant machine in full working order and the print quality is outstanding.
The engineer is a really nice guy and really knows his stuff. I couldn't recommend him enough. And very reasonable in price. He charged me £250 for installation and calibration.

He also spent a lot of time talking me through versaworks and colour management which was a great help.

I'm now fully operational at last. The colour difference in Roland inks compared to 3rd party inks are amazing. So much sharper.

His contact details in case anyone is interested:
Andrew Malcolm
Mob: 07921 380282

We will definitely have him back to service the machine

This is the new nozzle test compared to the old one.ImageImage
