Sublisplash inks ...

I've worked it out to 18.18% cheaper for the black and 19.82% cheaper for the CMY carts so it is certainly less price, I'm wondering is everyone realises the SS carts hold more ink which does make a slight difference? See the little worksheet I used.

As has already been said I too have not had any complaints using the SG ink so there's no real incentive to change just yet, maybe when it comes to me needing some new carts. I was really impressed with the difference in Pauls tests, although i'm waiting to see results once a custom ICC has been done.

Xpres offer 10% discount with free delivery so there is no economic benefit to companies like ours to jump ship. See previous threads.

It is also how much cheaper a good ink like Inktec is compared to both SG and SS. Sublisplash falls into the Sawgrass price bracket and not the large ink pricing which is widely available. That is where the gulf is in pricing and SS has gone the Sawgrass route unfortunately. There are massive mark ups being added unnecessarily.

Then again, it's not just about the quality of the prints. How do SS inks stand up to UV, washing and dishwashing?

On the one hand, I can't see many small businesses wanting to spend money like this on inks with no track record. On the other hand, I think the lack of a bulk ink option is a bit of a deal breaker for the larger business.

a couple quid a set less compared to forums discount deals and basically Hundreds of percent more than wide format or non sawgrass. Mind boggles on the mark up percents being added. Hopefully someone will realise the opportunity being missed and clean up. You can pay less than £40 for non wide format quantity set of inks that work fine, so if these were under half their current price then maybe sawgrassers would switch and non sawgrassers pay the extra but otherwise its a massively missed opportunity

Any news on tests people have done other than Paul? I'm half tempted to just ditch the Ricoh and switch to Sublinova in my two WF-7110 printers, still does A4 anyway so nothing really to lose.

If if you work on that basis of a 10% discount from xpress ( I was led to believe sawgrass ink wasn't to be discounted below the rrp but that's a different matter) and their free postage there cost comes in at £198.45 all in.
The price of the sublisplash would be £196.19 all in, however each cart has 2ml more ink in them so that's an extra 8ml of ink then also take into account the quality of the ink which is being independently tested by Paul at the moment, so those results will be interesting,time will tell of people's thoughts and opinions are.
We had at least 10 sets go out with printers yesterday after our demo day so the feedback should start coming in very quickly.

HAHA....bit of a Joke this Subli splash thing to me really ..when you see the price I can't stop laughing lol....fair enough if they price them cheaper , significantly cheaper to SG ....Mario I bet you imported these from China ..����..There are lot of cheaper ink out there keep good quality like SG .....

Unfortunately readers will need to take a deep breath before starting to read the next sentance, as it goes on a bit...

I'm more than a little disappointed that the "impartial" supertester on the forum posted this as an apples vs apples comparison, which clearly shows that the new inks are vastly superior to the Sawgrass inks, and then raves about the impressive new inks - only to admit under questioning that it's actually an apples vs pears comparison, as the icc profile used for the Sawgrass inks had been deliberately engineered to produce false colours (albeit not apparently as a deliberate way to make the Sawgrass inks look poor in this comparison).

As several other have said, this looked initially to be a welcome addition to our arsenal, upto the point that the price was announced.

Whilst the print quality may a little better in a fair comparison, the fact that the real world price is actually more expensive than the Sawgrasss inks just indicates that we have a Sawgrass clone in the marketplace, which feels all the more disappointing given the initial fanfare that accompanied the launch of the Sublisplash inks.

As you probably read all post (i hope you did) this wasn't a test against ANY inks. there is no winners or losers. I didn't said once in video I am testing against SG inks. would you be shocked if I tell you I didn't use SG?
I did this clearly for you lot to show you what you can expect when buying this printer and ink, and print out of the box. Please note title of the video too! it doesn't state "Hey lets compare...."
I am not that stupid to try to pretend I am testing some inks against inks. I have a massive respect to members of this forum and I know many in person. Do you think this would go ok? if I pretend on front of all those suer experienced guys?
I ONLY used other inks and to show difference in colours. not to judge.
Trust me, if I want to compare INKS i would do much better and more in depth video with almost exactly same systems for comparison. Not quick show off video of new kid on the market. If you can't appreciate this, then I am sorry to hear this. Go and buy the gear and than post your thought. i will be genuinly interested to hear them.

I have to say I was also under the impression this was a SG vs SB test.
May I also say that if the SB inks are this price compared to the SG ones maybe that is what they cost to produce and they are priced accordingly. I know there are alternatives out there that are cheaper but as many have said on here that one moment they are working and then bang the printer is knackered. I am talking about a Rioch or Sawgrass printer with non refill carts.
