Colour issues
Re: Colour issues
I have a Ricoh SG3110DN with Sublisplash inks and the Sublisplash ICC profile is installed. I am pressing onto Latte mugs using the S-Race paper that came with printer from Dyesublimation Supplies along with a baking sheet between mug and press. No matter what settings (time, temp) I use some of the colours are still coming out wrong, namely Blues not deep enough and light grey coming out light green. I am now wondering if it can possibly be to do with the coating on the mugs and/or the S-Race paper. I have tried a completely different ICC profile just to check that it was working and it is. Pressing onto ceramic coasters ok.
Wasting a lot of mugs and would really appreciate any help. Thanks.

Re: Colour issues
First question then: Where do you get your mugs?
Secondly, what times/temps do you use?

Hi Webtrekker
I got the mugs from a company that I have since found out is not welcome in these forums. Rookie mistake in not finding this forum before I started out on this venture!
Temp 180 degrees C for 200sec had previously tried 180 but as mentioned in my post have tried a variety of times.

Re: Colour issues
In all honesty, I would have to suspect the mug coatings first, above anything else, particularly if, as you say, your ceramic coasters turn out fine.
Re: Colour issues
Thanks Webtrekker, you have confirmed my suspicions. I had been going to purchase some from Dye Sublimation Supplies but they seem to be selling only by the pallet load at present.

Re: Colour issues
Did you say what software you are printing from? Have you checked and double checked all of your printer and software settings?
Re: Colour issues
Ill probably get shot down for suggesting this lol...BUT... You are printing on the correct side of the paper aren't you?
