Early days yet, but I'm considering starting a collection of wall clocks made from thin aluminium sheet. I've done a few designs and have made up two working clocks so far, including the mockup/quick lashup I've made here ...

I'm really pleased with the results and they look almost exactly as in the mockups, with a very high-gloss finish. The only thing I'm looking for now is some way to stiffen the aluminium sheet. I don't want to go down the road of using thicker, and a lot more expensive, aluminium. I was thinking more along the lines of some kind of backing material, be it wood, plastic or stiff card.
So, it's back to the lab! (er, ... spare bedroom).
