Re: How to print ties ?

Post by logobear »

I have a request to supply & print 20 black ties with a block of print to occupy the bottom point in a wedge shape about 13cm up. multi colour print
We will use Premier PR700 poliester ties.

I could use print & cut, or magic Touch WOW, or hand trimmed OBM laser print.
i have no problem sizing & shaping artwork, . but how to apply?

I want/need to avoid the 'pressure' mark you get where the back seam stitches create a fat bit and show through.
I don't want to unsew & re sew after printing.
perhaps I use a teflon cusion under?
Any suggestions / tips ?

Many thanks. Phil

I know this is slightly different, but when we used to screen print on to ties, we used to slide the tie on to a (tie shaped) jig, this got rid of the ridge effect. When ordering in the ties, we had to make sure you could actually slide the jig inside the tie. A thin bit of metal or mdf would do the trick!

Yes, we have made an mdf board to shove up em!
understand i can use wow at 110c and obm at 120c so should avoid shiney look.
OBM at lower pressure so perhaps best?

Ooh! Hope they're not German ties logo, they don't like it up 'em!

On a more positive note, seeing as most folk never wash a tie, I suppose that leaves a lot of scope for transfer methods.
