Re: Ricoh 3110 Maintenance Schedule

Post by Drew »

Recently picked up a Ricoh 3110 printer, to replace our Epson ones.

All is good, but about every 10 minutes it wakes up and does some clean, for a minute or so, before going back to sleep...... 10 minutes later same thing. We timed it yesterday over an hour, and it was every 10 minutes.

Is this right? I've looked in settings and can't see anything to change how often it does this.

Anyone have any ideas?

TIA

Are your carts full or empty, mines used to do it when I was almost out of ink which is when I made the mistake of switching it off, dont do that as it wastes inks every time your fire it up.

Ive found if carts are low on juice then it tends to go through the maintenance cycle more but I could be wrong on that, maybe others have found the same?
I've since replaced all the carts (original starup carts when i bought it) with sublisure inks and the maintenance is maybe only once a day, it only did the cycle (as yours is doing) when I had the startup carts in it, i've checked for settings also but found nothing to amend it

The carts are full ish. They are re-fillable ones.

I've been leaving it off for the moment, and turning on once a day just to run through things. It may use more ink (than standard leaving it on), but that's got to be less than 10 minute maintenance?

We had the Ricoh 3110 a while back, that thing was nothing but a pain in the bum! .... Swapped it for a brand new modified Epson WorkForce WF-7110 with a CISS Ink System and had zero issues since.
