According to my 12 year old maths whizz...it's an error in our maths and measurements!
We're supposed to measure the inside of the mug so the dims are: 6.5cm diameter x 6.5cm height
The maths to work out the volume is:
pi × radius squared x height = centimetres cubed
So 3.14 x 3.25 squared x 6.5 = 215.68997062302 centimeters cubed.
So that's why I'm getting 200ml (about 7oz) in my mug!
Personally...I prefer the magic theory

I stand corrected! I made a really stupid mistake by saying the volume was pi x dia x height. First time I've done that, but probably not the last, now that I've hit retirement age!
