If you've left the head cleaner fluid in overnight, and left the head standing on a fluid-saturated kitchen towel overnight and it is still blocked then that is basically it. It is over.

The WF series are very prone to head blockages. Next time buy a XP series printer which is much more reliable and less likely to block.

And it's got nothing to do with cheap ink. I use good quality ink and went through 3 WF printers in well under a year before seeing the light and buying a Sawgrass printer with XP printers as backup.

no, not without a screwdriver.

What you can do is get a sheet of kitchen roll and fold it a few times so it fits in between the rails of the printer. Then you can pour some head cleaner fluid on it and gently move the head across to the kitchen roll. The fill up the head with the cleaning fluid and leave it overnight to soak.

tomorrow remove the kitchen roll and replace it with dry roll. Run some cleaner fluid through the head and then gently move the kitchen roll back and forth under the head. Remove that kitchen roll and replace it with another dry. Then finally just run a bit more cleaner fluid through the head.

If that does not work then there's not a lot you can do unless you're prepared to strip the head down to remove it and clean it. but even then there's no guarentee it will work.

Is it possible to easily convert another Epson printer to take sub inks at all? I have a workforce 7620 that uses the same cartridges? I need divine intervention LOL

any epsom should be able to use sublimation inks. All you need to do is to swap cartridges and flush through the normal ink so sub inks go through.

About 3 head cleans should no it. Also it might be better to print off 10 colour pages instead as doing 3 head cleans continuously increases the chance of a head clog as the heads become saturated with inks.

Not sure what the chances of the WF 7620 are of clogging but if you are looking at a new printer at some stage for sub then the XP series are very good. I've run my A4 XP322 now on sub inks for 3 years without any clogging issues and just the occasional cartridge not recognised issue. I'm even on the original set of refillable cartridges :)

For A3 printing the XP-900 is very reliable although becoming harder to find. I have the XP 900 as back up to the sawgrass printer and also for busy times when I need 2 A3 printers going. Had it since January and only had 1 cartridge not recognised issue and not a single clog so far even when it's not been used for a week.

I have access to an ultrasonic cleaner which I have used on occasion to clean print heads with a good deal of success.

Unfortunately these are quite expensive for the type I use, but I have seen available much smaller units used by the jewellery trade which would be ideal for small items.

Thank you, really appreciate the advice :) I did swap over the inks but it actually appears its a problem with the cartridge not the print head by the looks of it as I'm getting the same issue on the other printer :(
