Re: Adobe illustrator issues
For some reason I can edit an image in illustrator.
I’m new to it so may be simple.
I chose place image as I would in photoshop but it’s not working every option is greyed out.
I was hoping to use it as my main software for print and cut rather than scal but so far I’m not impressed.

Re: Adobe illustrator issues
you need to click EMBED it. then you will be able to vector it or whatever you need to do.

Re: Adobe illustrator issues
Thanks for that but all still greyed out though.
How do I create a cut line and add the Reg markers for the cutter to pick up?
Im thinking I have jumped in over my head as all the web videos are showing the same but it’s not working for me.

Re: Adobe illustrator issues
is your image vector? or raster? if is just a raster ie: jpg, PNG then you need to vector it first.

Re: Adobe illustrator issues
Scal is very limited.
i do like it but I prefer photoshop so AI would do the same job as Ps and scal combined.
and it’s always good to learn something new.

Re: Adobe illustrator issues
You may find that as you have opened a jpeg in the program it is essentially a rectangular object and not a vector( lines). You need to convert it to a vector to add the cut line.
