Pressed my first mug but some issues

Just recently purchased an mug press / sub printer and pressed my first mug

This was pressed at [FONT=&quot]180c Temperature for 240 seconds. But the black at the top hasnt came out quiet black.

[/FONT]Would this be because it wasnt pressed for long enough or would it have been pressed too long if there is such a thing as over pressing?

The mug manufacture recommend 180c for 240 seconds but the printer paper is recommended to press at same temp but less time.

Any help would be appreciated.

Are you waiting until the mug temp reaches the 180c before starting the countdown?

No I didn't wait until it got a temp, I did notice when I put the mug in the temp dropped to 130, I assume I should wait until it reaches temp and then start the count down?

Whose mugs are they?

The mug handle area can be a heatsink area which draws heat away, so you get fading close to the handle or base of the mug. Different mugs will solve this.

It is possible that you don't have the mug blanket tight enough. The blanket should be fairly tight, hugging round the edges of the mug.

Reduced temperature and longer times can help with problem printing.
