Uk mug coating suppliers

Hello, is there any uk company that coats their own mugs to a good standard. Rather than importing ready coated ones from abroad.

Getting so many companies when i complain, saying they are not checked they are just brought in and shipped out.

So hoping to use a company who coats the mugs themselves who actually quality check in house.

There is only one company that coats in the UK (as well as other countries) and that is Listawood Trade Supplies which I happen to think is the best coating. However with them there is no guarantee that you will get UK coated mugs.

Also, I do not think I would be wrong in saying that their quality checks are probably the same as the companies you have already used. Mugs are one of these items that is "Stack 'em high, sell 'em cheap" so I doubt maany even have the time to check every mug.

I would be interested to know what companies you have tried as that would give a very good indication of your standards. You haven't said anything negative so there is no harm in naming them all.

I have tried most suppliers i can find Signzworld, inkexperts, subliblanks and so on.

I have found best quality with MDP so far but recently started having problems with the last two batches of mugs i ordered from them with the coating being mottled which is visible before and after print.

Most of the mugs i get have a fair few with things under the coating little black speckles or pin holes.

I use the mugs for wedding photos so i always am looking for best quality as people are quick to complain with any little mark.

Maybe i am too critical?

as lots of people i have spoken to use these company's with no problems at all.

What is your gauge on what is deemed a passable mug if you don't mind me asking?

If my expectations are too high maybe your feedback will help me deem what is acceptable.

I have only used mugs from one of those companies and I only use them because they are cheap promo.

I would recommend you try the following two mugs which I think are the best on the market. 1 edges it on the coating, the other on how nice the mug is.

Listawood PM1023 AAA Grade

Listawood is 11oz and Xpres is 10oz. Listawood do normally sell the 10oz but it looks like it might be out of stock. Give them a call as they may have a couple lying around for you to sample

You'll find lots of discussion on here about which mug members prefer.

Personally we only use Xpres, we have zero rejects. I have used mugs from Signzworld recently and these seemed fine but not as good as the XP5013.

I have seen a lot of people recommending the Xpres mugs, the only thing that puts me off is they are 10oz and the sample i had it felt really small in my hand.

We like the size of this and having spoken to customers over the years they always agree. Nothing worse thanan 11oz 'builders mug' as one of my customers once said!

I personally prefer a 10oz mug as I think they are more elegant.

Having said that, its always personal preference...

I print mugs for a company that sells on Amazon, they have some customers that say the 10oz is too small and then others will say the 11oz is too big. No way of ever getting it perfect for everyone.

Although not costing in the UK, Raja's Rhino coating I'd good, and they do their own mug manufacturing and sub coating in their own Thailand factories.
Their mugs and packaging look suspiciously similar to Xpres, so I wouldn't be surprised if Raja produced for them.
We've used Raja for nearly 10 years, and have no complaints.
