Re: Hi there!

Hi there from Florida! I am not new to sublimation. I had a small home-based sublimation business probably 10 years ago. Unfortunately, I was not in a financial position to be able to afford the inks with the amount of sales I was doing at the time so I ended up selling everything. I am considering on getting back into it to complement my laser cutting business. So, here I am to learn everything all over again - what printers can be used, what inks are good these days...? I used to use Artanium and not sure if they even exist anymore.

Probably the most popular ink in the UK is Inktec Sublinova. Great colours, doesn't clog the head if not used for a while. About £60 per litre in the UK Not sure that it is as easily available in USA... it was harder to find a couple of years ago. I seem to remember a lot of guys in America got their ink from Cobra.

Printers are a bit up in the air at the moment. The goto was always the Epson 1430 Artisan, which was a 6 colour super B (13x19) photo printer. That has been replaced by the ecotank L1800 at 3 times the price. It wasn't available in the USA or Western Europe a few years ago - maybe it is now, but they are hard to track down because the DTF guys are using them to convert.

Alternatively you could go for Sawgrass, but both the ink and the printers are expensive. Ink works out at about £1300 litre....

Inverness is in Florida now? :-) Maybe neesd to update your profile, unless you're on a 'wet' holday lol.

Not sure what options are available to you right now in the US but let us know what you find and we can hopefuly advise.

I'm just adding laser cutting to our business as well.

Inverness is in Florida now :). I am about an hour north of Tampa, if you are familiar. I learned that there was another Inverness when I tried to purchase something via FB Marketplace, I believe and realized it was going to be quite the trek to go get it.

What laser are you considering? I purchased one in March and it has never worked right so it is scheduled to be picked up tomorrow and returned. It has been a major pain in my rump! When I purchase something, I expect it to work and not have to rebuild it to work. I just ordered from a different company, twice the money, but their customer reviews are stellar. Would be interested in what company you are going with or went with.

Thanks for the info. I will have to check those out. I wonder what happened to the Artanium inks that I used to use, might have to Google it.

Hahaha, thought that might be the case! So many place names the same, it can get very confusing when shipping lol.
