Re: MDP Mug Press fade issues

Post by chet »

I've just starting to notice fading and fine lines on my mugs, not sure if its the new element I've had or something else, I'm using the same image as before and I've even tried pre warming the mugs - still the same outcome.
Does anybody know why this would be happening?

Thank you.

The base of your mug is cold, put hot water in it to warm the base up more I think will help.

100% the colder weather.
I have been using a teppanyaki grill to preheat my mugs.
stole the idea from olly I believe??

my mugs come out the box onto the grill set at 100oC and I apply the print and put into the press from there.

it does take about 5 mins to heat them up enough but since using I haven’t had a single mug suffer with fading. Btw they don’t actually reach 100oC they get warm to hot on the base and the rest is warm to touch.

then straight into tap water hot bowl of water with paper on from press remove paper and dry.
