Re: Brand New L1800 Not Printing, Help!

Hey Guys,

I'm new to the forum and to the world of dye sublimation. I have just got round to setting up the new L1800 I recently bought, I followed the instructions on setting up the printer and filling the inks. The ICC profile is installed and I can select it when printing in illustrator, however when I print there is hardly any ink and it is not printing a full range of colours. Below is a photo of what I am trying to print/what is coming out, there is also a photo of the nozzle test which is only showing 3 colours which are very faint.

Unfortunately the shop I bought it from is closed for Christmas, has anyone got any ideas on what I could be doing wrong?

Thanks in advance :)

I don't have this printer but a common issue when starting out with a brand new printer is that it takes a while for the ink lines to fill properly. You may need to run off quite a few full-colour pages to draw ink through to the print head. This is why many people complain about having virtually no ink left after setting up a new printer!

You can also pull the ink into the carts with a syringe.
