Re: Has anyone had luck with the BlueWave 5 in 1 Mug Press? I haven't...

I just did a cook for 22mins at around 165 degrees (using an internal thermometer) with 6 mugs and green wraps. I’ve had some strange inconsistencies from the batch which I’ll list below. Any suggestions would be much appreciated! I did a batch of 6 previous to this with identical settings, all black text and 2 out of the 6 came out with slightly brown text.

First mug was a black mug and didn’t seem to transfer fully (as you can see at the bottom and from the paper)

This mug has random ink blobs on the rim, which I’ve noticed before on tests in the oven… its never happened in a press and of course doesn’t show on the print prior to cooking.

The below mug just didn’t seem to transfer well at all, as the print is quite faded compared to the other mugs

Example of a perfect mug that came out of the same batch.

Any help would be appreciated!

Could be the coating on the mugs, remind me which mugs and if they're 10 or 11oz? Solid black can be very tricky sometimes to print.

The one that's not printed at the top looks like the wrap wasn't tight enough in that area, again make sure your wraps are good and tight and overlap top and bottom.

Are you storing paper in a good environment, not damp or too cold for example?

I’m using signsworld 11oz mugs with small handle. I always make sure the wraps are really tight.

Is it normal for the wraps to be this dirty underneath? They’re brand new. I’ve made sure that my paper covers the entire wrap but I’m getting marks on the mug that correspond with the dirt marks on the wrap/under the wrap [emoji853] I know people suggest using butcher paper or similar to cover the entire mug between the wrap but it seems like such a faff [emoji30]Image

Yes, in a normal room with radiator that goes on each day

If the wraps get print onto them just stick them in the oven on full temp for 20inutes, it burns it off but stinks like hell. Can't tell on your image of that's ink though tbh. Give them a good wash and see if it shifts.

Shouldn't be any need for any additional paper in-between.

Is this normal for a brand new wrap? Granted I bought them from Alibaba.com to save on price, but they seem to mark the mugs after cooking [emoji30]
