some details
paper - Beaver Paper TexPrint XPHR
printer - Epson F-500 (bought around 2020/2021). printer settings set up for thickest paper possible setting.
Ink - Official Epson F-500 ink
Adobe Photoshop, photoshop manages colour, printer colour management off, normal printing, perceptual, black point compensation ticked
Epson F500 print software, print quality:quality, max speed unchecked (to slow the print down), advanced options -->media output of blacks and colours reduced to negative % (same amount)
print rollers gets cleaned regularly with a ribbon soaked in isopropanol (the ribbon removes a lot of ink!)
Hi all, I'm currently having an issue where the manufacturer has changed the Paper XPHR composition, and now when I print, it will cause the drag marks across my print, but only when I am printing dark colours such as black. to prevent the drag marks, I go to advanced options --> media output and reduce the colour outputs to up to -40% (depending on the amount of black ink on the print). The issue is though, it makes the blacks look grey and not really true black, and the other colours a bit less vivid. am I missing a tickbox to stop the black ink from causing these drag marks? I have set the printer to print slower, and the media adjustment to try and stop the drag marks but my colours aren't really correct. is there another option to print it slower? or to avoid the drag marks?

Re: colour drag marks issues on epson f-500
You can set a time between passes on the printer itself, this is needed for many papers that dont dry instantly - personally i use trupix and dont have any issues with it. But i did try some tacky paper at one point and had to put i think it was 0.5 or 1 second delay between passes otherwise it would have issues on blocks of colour.
