Hi all
I seem to be plagued with print problems.
I have an Epson Stylus Photo 1400, and, very recently I started to run out of inks on my CISS. I have refilled them all now and made sure that no ink has enterd the inner chambers on each of the 6 colours. It does however have to be said that I had to empty a couple out with a syringe as, in my haste I failed to read and didn't take the filters out and replace with the original bung prior to refilling. I have however, lost my Cyan!! I've head cleaned to extinction and reset the pad warning.......OMG this is a disaster where I'm stuck n the middle of a largeish mug order but, just can't get any Cyan so my prints look somewhat pink and grey/yellow!!! Graeme at the Transfer press told me to try removing the heads and sucking ink through with a syringe? Bit unsure n the process but tried it to no avail - mind you should I have taken the bungs out of the top of the Cyan on the chamber? Arrrrrgh Please give me some advice guys.

oh....i can feel the pain! had 2 1400's and in the end (just recently) gone onto a ricoh, the 1400 I replaced is actually still fine and I have it here in my garage with the ciss & everything! I just fed up with the not knowing if it was going to print right etc.

I have not done what you you have done, but it comes down to not having one of the inks coming through. Don't do too many head cleans at once-it only makes the problem worse, it is recommended that if you still have the original epson inks then put them in and run a head clean/print to see if those inks are coming through-that will tell you if the head is blocked or no ink from the CISS-yours does sound pretty serious though!! (sorry) if it comes to point of replacing it-get a ricoh-worth the peace of mind alone!.

If you are desperate, you can e-mail me the design you are printing & I will print them out this end for you & post them to you (nominal fee for costs obviously) PM me if I can help...

Thanks all for the advice, Julia at the transfer press and Graeme are a tower of strength. I reset the ink pad counter thingumajiggy from this utility download http://www.wasteink.co.uk/epson-ipr-reset/ and left itm overnight, then I did a few more head cleans and, when I saw the first traces of the ink come through on a nozzle check print - banged a couple of my designs through to just 'finally seat' the ink back into action!! Thanks again all. I've another problem now but with PSE7 - I'll find the appropriate place for that!!!

That's a really good piece of software and worth Paul/ Justin getting hold of this to put in a download section. The SSC Utility resets chips and counters for a lot of Epson printers but this one also does the Photo 1400 (which SSC utility doesn't support). We have used this successfully on our Photo 1400. That reminds me, we have a Photo 1400 that's collecting dust, so off to the 'for sale' section it goes...
