Ahhh, eyelets are easier than you think! Check with a local marine supply shop/chandlery for a grommet punch system, it's a multiple step process to punch out a hole with a special die and a hammer, then a 2 part grommet (top and bottom) is inserted through the hole and a hand held die set is hammered down to seal the material in-between the 2 halves of the grommet. Here's a link to a UK shop where you can get all the grommet tools you need! http://www.handtools-uk.com/default.php?cPath=54 The grommets are a specific size so determine ahead of time what size is best for a flag and get that size tool and grommets! i have used this exact same setup to add grommets to flags, canvas, tarps etc... it's quite simple and the grommets hold very strong and have lasted years!
